My name is Karmen, known to friends as 'K'. I'm a mum, designer and fitness enthusiast, with a soft spot for French bulldogs.

I started my career in the days of zip discs and Quark files. My experience spans product, digital and brand design across more industries than I can neatly list, with the last decade focused on senior UX and product design.
 

I've led design teams, shaped strategy, built and governed design systems, and worked closely with engineers to turn ideas into market-ready products across health-tech, prop-tech and enterprise SaaS.
 
My strength lies in the details. I have an obsessive eye for spacing, alignment, hierarchy and language. The small decisions most people don’t see but absolutely feel. Much of my work has involved translating complex scientific and metric-driven data into products people can understand and use. I design for simplicity, clarity and moments of delight. Every pixel earns its place. Every word serves a purpose.

 

Beyond execution, I champion design thinking across organisations. I help teams understand the value of design and implement ways of working that improve quality and consistency. Increasingly, this includes AI-enabled design practice, shaping how teams use tools like Claude to accelerate craft without compromising it.
